About Hammond Park

Hammond Park has been leased to Walton County by the City of Monroe for 50 years.


This park is a passive park and has:
  • Adapted Baseball
  • Ball fields that are used for the W.A.S.P. Program
  • Concession stand
  • Picnic areas
  • Play area
  • Play equipment
  • Tennis courts

Crepe Myrtle Festival

One of Walton's largest community festivals is the Crepe Myrtle Festival. Held each June and directed by the Crepe Myrtle Festival Committee, it is an event with something for the entire family.


Exhibits range from antique cars to robots, and include:
  • Amusement park rides
  • Music
  • A tractor parade
  • Unique arts and crafts
  • A variety of foods

More than 200 vendors from around the Southeast display crafts, merchandise, and food for visitor's enjoyment, whether browsing or buying.
