The function of the Public Works Department is to provide overall coordination and direction to five separate but cooperating divisions (Engineering, Roads & Bridges, Sanitation, Storm Water, and Clean & Beautiful), and to interact appropriately with various other state, federal, and local agencies.
This Department is responsible for all facets of Road Maintenance and Construction, Engineering and Design, Plan Review and Project Inspection, Solid Waste Collection, and Recycling.
Road Closures & Current Projects
Rivermist Road will be operating one lane of traffic beginning Thursday, June 11, 2020 due to a Culvert Replacement Project.
Stewart Road resurfacing project will tentatively begin on Friday, June 12, 2020 and will continue into the next week.
Dewey Hogan Road between Double Springs Road and James Powers Road will be closed on June 21, 2020, until further notice for a bridge replacement project.
Clarence Odum Road between John Stowe Road and Dry Pond Road will be closed on Monday, March 9, 2020, until further notice for a bridge replacement project.
