The West Walton 9 & 10 Girls All-Star team are State Champions!
They completed their run at the title with a commanding victory to capture the state title. The journey began with the District tournament hosted by the Walton County Parks and Recreation department in Monroe, Georgia. West Walton had victories over Baldwin County and Central Walton in the District tournament, but the road got tougher as the big red entered the State finals. With a nail biter win over Thomaston-Upson County in the opener. West Walton faced Franklin County in the semi-final game. Their tenacious full court press and explosive offense proved too much for Franklin as West Walton pulled away with a 31-23 victory. With the momentum behind West Walton, nothing was going to deny these girls a championship. They charged out with a first quarter score of 12-0 and never looked back, finishing off Dublin with a 37-9 victory. The first ever GRPA West Walton State Championship! The team is Head Coached by Jeff Caldwell with Assistant Coach Craig Deep.
