The Walton County Public Works Department consists of (55) full-time employees and approximately (20) part-time and temporary employees.

     Steve Chandler, who graduated from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, is the Director of Public Works.  The Assistant Road Superintendent is John Allman who is also a volunteer firefighter.  Sandra H. Smith is the Office Manager.  Our Administrative Specialist is Gayla Hanson, Alicia Mull is our Citi-Tech Program Specialist, and Tamara Bonner is our Office Assistant and Receptionist.

      Leonard Starks, Kenneth Cabe, David Mitchell, Alan Tarpley, W. Chris Jones, Bruce Allman, Terry Conner, and Jay Malcom are the crew chiefs at Walton County Public Works.  Many other men and women work to assist these crew chiefs in keeping Walton County safe and beautiful.

       The majority of part-time employees work different shifts at the Walton County Convenience Centers.  Temporary employees are usually employed during the summer months.  In the past we have worked with the Monroe Area Comprehensive High School in the Walton County Youth Apprenticeship Program.
